Re: what are the different compatible types of hard drives used for the Series III

2012-08-11 by ataritt

I need the same info, plus is it possible to run a DRDOS / MSDOS program on the Fairlight 3?

There is a nice tool that links an MSDOS pc to an ATARI, giving the Atari a "directory" just like a harddrive that displays all that is on the MSDOS machine.

If we have that we could literally drag and drop between PC's, Atari's and Fairlights.

If anyone can port this program to run on the Series 2 and 3 we would have the holy grail of interchangeability of files between all platforms.

It's called ST-Master.prg / PC-Slave.exe where the pcslave.exe gives simple access via a com port to all drives.

If interested i can make a video on how i use this tool in my studio to backup and transfer samples and Cubase files from the atari to the PC (even XP).

If this program were to run on the Fairlight OS we would have a great way to load and transfer samples and setupfiles.
