I saw a few posts from a while back regarding the "IIL" or whatever it's being called. First off, I have had luck formatting a hard disk on the IIx using a Series III Hard Drive controller card and Series III formatting software. I've talked to "those in the know" and have been assured that the ability to run the Fairlight from the Hard Disk is present in revision 20 - I believe it was available in 19 as well. The problems that I ran into are basically with an inability to get the Rev. 20 OS to recognize the drive. My guess is it's the lack of the proper firmware on the card. I haven't worked at this in at least 7 years or more, but now that this has come up again I might have to try it out. Also - I have a rather odd backplace here that I believe is from a "IIL". It's a motherboard that will fit inside a IIx, with the PS to the side, but it''s set up for 4 voice cards and 5 memory cards. It's got 21 slots on it. Come to think of it, I've also got a IIx shell sitting in my storage area. And some spare Computer cards... Hmmmm..... Anybody got any additional spare parts sitting around? Might be worth trying to build up a clone. Tim
