HI kevin It's not a case of which is better, in terms of quality the III wins hands down, but in terms of character it has to be the IIx. The III is way better than any akai or even emu, although the emu stuff comes close in terms of quality and character, akai on the other hand is good but bland in comparision, you get what you pay for.
