I don't think you use those Steinberg sync tests with real ASIO 
drivers from the pro audio card vendor (e.g. M-Audio, RME, etc.)
those sync tests are only for the Steinberg ASIO Direct-X or ASIO-MME
wrapper drivers, which suck and nobody uses them.  They are used
only when you have cheap soundblaster or something like that
which doesn't have native ASIO drivers and need the ASIO wrapper.

skip those tests.  you will configure Cubase SX to use the
M-Audio Delta 1010 ASIO drivers in the device panel in SX.

now back to Fairlight ...

Can't remember the crash text, but it will close down Cubase and do 
that Win XP "Send Error Report/Don't Send Error Report" thing.
