Hi,

If like me, you love the Miami Vice sound track by Jan Hammer , then you

have a pretty good idea of the Series III sounds.

Hope it helps.

Laurent.

We all know how older CMIs sound, but what about Series III?

I mean, everybody marvels at its sound abilitles and quality,

but actually, except two choir (In "Paranoimia" (AON) and "Eldorado"

(Jarre) examples and bunch of common to all CMIs sounds, I find it

hard to spot anything unique around.

In an article I read waaay back, was mentioned that it has excellent

strings sound: how true is this, are the samples really that good, or

Synclavier beats it?

Anything more? Can anyone tell any unique sounds, maybe with providing

a short example?

Well, actually that's my problem, most of sounds from that album
(especially that "stringy" pads I first thought to be Fairlight, were in
fact coming from something else (like JD-800 on "Very", which is next to
buy on my list- a rediscovered love: the synth, not the PSP album). :)

Well, "It's a sin" is a good example of what I mean by "choir", but I need
a warm juicy string section, no aliasing noise pure orgy ;-). But, hay,
treat it like something of "try before you buy" thing ;-).

It's really hard to find a "solo" play with CMI sIII.
