Hi Harald,
Do you know what year these Mini's were released... Do you think this is something worth having?

Hi Peter,

Don't be, being jealous doesnt help anyone. Better to focus on how to
collaborate and make a joint effort in creating something beautiful.

It has been for me at times, so I know the problem...

Good luck ! You may indeed be able to get one cheap. Do take into account
that you may have to go out there to pick it up !

Immigration was nasty last time I was there, clearing it and customs just
to get in took me about an hour. They initially didn't buy the story I
came to pick up a Fairlight...

Best regards,
Harald.

In the mid/late 90s, not what year exactly. The MFX3+'s for sale recently
usually were built 1996+

I'd quickly check out the condition of the Series III MFX2 and the MFX3+
24/24 on the holmes pages if I were you and ask for a price quote.
For some more money you may have a lot more system, although the mini's
would be quite nice. (Like to go to Australia ?)

If you are looking for a many-multitrack, also keep an eye out for a
Merlin 48 or another MFX3+ 24/24 which offers 24 in /24 out analog and
digital. That may cost more than a 4 channel mini, but it is more track
for the buck so to speak.

It really depends on what you intend to do with it and how many tracks you
need. Also keep in mind that when using 24 tracks, you will need ample
mixing capacity as well.

You should be able to synch more minis together with timecode though so
you might 'grow' the system.

Hope it helps (a bit)

Best regards,
Harald.
