Cleaning Music Keyboard

I finished cleaning the CPU and am now moving to the music keyboard of my CMI IIx. Is there a special way to clean the contacts? Anyone have any tricks. I am afraid of breaking the springs. Do they get brittle with age Is there a replacement anyone has found for them? Thanks for sharing your cleaning tips... MERRY XMAS!!
