RE: [Fairlight-CMI] OS Query

Hi Laurent,

I'm not sure actually. I got this query from someone else, not on this list.

I would be up for doing this, as long as it's not too technical and easy to try out. What would I need?

Cheers,
Peter

Are you refering to the Operating System (OS9) only or also the CMI software ?

The OS9 version delivered with the 6.03 should boot on a newer hardware
version of the CMI. However, I don't think the Waveform Superviser(CMI-41)
is backward compatible with the Waveform Processor (CMI-33) and could be
managed with the Rev6.03 CMI software... But it would need to be confirmed
/tested by a CMI 9.34 owner.

Why would you like to do this ?

Regards.

    Laurent.

Hi Peter,

If you do have a 9.34 CMI, it's pretty easy. You need to backup
your 9.34 k0, k1 and k2 partitions on three 8" floppy disks using
the "pback" util. And then copy the rev 6.03 floppy disks into the
k0, k1 and k2 partition and reboot... That's all.

But I still don't understand why you would like to do that ???

Regards.

    Laurent.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
