This will probably be about right then, as 8" drives aren't SCSI as far as I know. Also, After doing several discs, I noticed that the disc doesn't take very long to format (1 minute say), but the verification and checking of good sectors takes up all the time. If this is the case, can I do a quick format where it will skip this verification process?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Peter,

for reference, formatting/partitioning external SCSI HD's
on a Series III takes me about 25 minutes or more per HD.
I believe it is recommended to exit CMI software completely when
doing formatting, not just shell out.

Peter,

I would recommend you always check the formatted disks for errors, you are
storing your system files on it. It HAS to be flawless.

Think of the enormous amount of extra time it will cost you to attempt to
recreate the disks in case of one failed sector..

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
