It definitely doesn't look like a 9600; but people occasionally call the
"big" PSMT systems "9600 system" if they received the upgrades.

And yes, it's a bit shady in my eyes.

Hi all,

this is not a 9600.
Judging from the two dodgy photographs, it is an old PSMT
system (the first series after poly sampling was released in '85).
PSMT stands for "Polyphonic Sampling Medium Tower.
"9600" stands for the option to fit 96 panning voices multiplexed
to 32 outputs at 768 MB Ram in the tower.
These systems can not be upgraded to 9600 specs purely
because the cards won't fit in the tower. Also you would have
later revision cards (different sound), PSUs and so on in the
white door 3200,9600,6400 systems.

The auction shure does smell a bit dodgy. I mailed the guy when
the auction came up and did not get a reply yet.

Beware!

Regards Fabian

P.S.
Hello Malte, hope you are well.
