Tape Streamer Errors

Tape Streamer Errors

2005-09-01 by Peter

Hi,

Does anyone know if there are more in-depth commands for checking
contents on Tapes?

All I know is DIRTAPE, but some Tapes I have that are should be full
aren't showing anything! One of them says "0 Files Found" and the
others are showing "Unexpected Tape error 3".

The MRX600A tapes I've had for sometime are fine, so the Streamer
should be ok! Should I give it a clean? Any tips?

SCHECK doesn't work with Tapes unfortunately!

Cheers,
Peter

Follow up - Just trying RESTORE command:

1st tape says is blank and the other 3 "Unable to read Tape Header",
respectively (see below). Does this sound like the contents of the
last 3 tapes are unretreivable?

Thanks,
Peter

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
