CMI 2X from another keyboard ?

CMI 2X from another keyboard ?

2005-10-12 by James Thomson

Hi,

Is it possible to play a CMI series 2X from another midi keyboard ? I would
like to use one keyboard for both the CMI 3 and CMI 2X and simply change via
a midi switching box. Would this be possible? Many thanks.

Regards,

Hi James,

You should be able to have the 2x receive MIDI on a specific channel and
the 3 receive on a different channel, then use a program change button on
your master synth or MIDI keyboard to address (transmit) on either the
channel assigned to the 2x or the channel assigned to the 3. No need for a
MIDI switch box.

Best regards,
Harald.
