CMI 2X upside down !

CMI 2X upside down !

2005-11-02 by James Thomson

HI,

I have managed to get the Mitsubishi 2896-63 8" floppy drive to work as
drive 0 ( system disk drive ) in my CMI 2X. It works brilliantly but the
only way it will work is upside down ! If it is on its side ( as normal ) or
horizontal I get a " system disk not recognized " message. Life can be very
odd at times, any ideas? Thanks,

James Thomson

:)

Well, there may be a loose cable, connecting when the drive is in a
certain position, or the head assembly may have been offset a bit and the
heads make a proper connection only when upside down.

Alternatively, a card may be making a false connection, except when upside
down. Try to take out and re-fit any disk related cards ?

Regards,
Harald.
