replacement floppy drives
2006-11-29 by David Griffith
I sold a Qume 842 8-inch floppy drive to someone who intended to use it for a Fairlight. Unfortunately (partially my fault), the drive didn't work when it arrived. I don't have any more of that make and model of drive, but I do have several Shugart 851 drives. The Qume manual states that the Qume 842 is a match for the Shugart 851. I don't use a Fairlight myself. So, is there someone here who can tell me if and how another make of floppy drive will work with a Fairlight? -- David Griffith dgriffi@cs.csubak.edu A: Because it fouls the order in which people normally read text.
