Series III Broken Lighten

Series III Broken Lighten

2007-03-12 by Sven

Dear All,

Unfortunately the light pen on my Series III broke. Is there anybody
who could suggest where to get a replacement light pen for it?

Best regards,

Sven

I take it you mean the G-Pen?
I'm not sure if this has been asked in the past, but I'd be intrigued to find out if they are available. Mine has a very small problem, but with a bit of time and effort, could be fixed (it's cosmetic). Having a replacement pen could always prove handy though :D

Dear Peter,

Many thanks for your reply. It is the G-Pen indeed, the one for the graphic
pad.

Best regards,

Sven

Hi Peter,

I've checked on my Series III and the tip of the G-Pen is
missing. Any ideas?

Best regards,

Sven

Hi Sven,

I know that some CMI 3 users have been able to repair their G-pen by
replacing the
pen tip with the carbon from a sketching pencil... But I've never
tried myself as my
G-Pen is working fine... Maybe other members have made this kind of
experiment ?

Best regards.

      Laurent.

Hmmm, interesting. I have a pen nib, but the tip of the plastic casing (that screws onto the pen), where it comes out of has perished, so the nib won't stay in place.
Good luck with replacing the nib, sounds like the fix may be easier than anticipated.
Cheers,
Peter
