Hi My recent purchase of an MFX-2 did not come with a monitor.
What specific makes of LCD or CRT monitors are compatible?

do I require any specific software to make it work?

and what type of connection/cable is correct between mainframe to 
monitor?

Hi,

The LC50 panasonic works great with MFX2 and MFX3

You connect it with the normal hd15 cable.
