Coldplay

Hi guys sorry i havent been on in a long time but its work work work. As many of members
here are aware, that i sold my series III to coldplay. I got my advanced copy of their new
Album from their label last week and have done nothing but listen to it. Its amazing and is
crammed full with Fairlight. Alot of the samples can be heard. Sorry forgot to mail the group
when chris martin and kanye West had a single out it was all written on the series III at Abbey
Road studio 2. Guys buy the album and hear it for yourselves but you'll also enjoy this album
it really different.
regards
Colin

A very poor piece of song craft IMHO, although it is very catchy in an
incredibly annoying way. As for the instrumentation, they should've
saved their money and bought a Casio PCM keyboard instead.

The new Coldplay stuff sounds quite compelling and adventurous though,
so I'm sure the CMI gets a better workout on that :). They also own
and use a fully functioning Sync II, don't they? The pad machine for
their last album, if I'm not mistaken. Beautiful stuff.

Yeah, that Kanye / Chris song REALLY annoys me (as does Chris Martins voice), but I find myself somehow intrigued everytime I hear it. Maybe it's the resonance of the Fairlight :-D
Cheers,
Peter

The strings are Fairlight layered not a synclavier.
however it was used on some tracks. Alot of drums are
Fairlight. Via la vida was all composed on a fairlight
and on the album theyve used it and real strings
combined. Guitars on some tracks is a series III. its
all over the album. the bells and chimes are
fairlight. Violins are fairlight. I hear it more
everytime i listen it. it was used on friday night
with jonathan ross show. good to see the revival of
the Fairlight long may it rein.
