Hi Michael,

Try putting a surge protector between the unit and the mains, or a UPS. I
have had this recently with another synth while powering it on via a
switchbox. I generally use surge protectors between any valuable
eectronics and the mains, but not that time.

There may be a chance that the MFX2 mains switch sparks a bit, try a good
quality master switch and leave the unit switch 'on', again with a surge
protector.
