Fairlight Demo Cassette

2003-10-31 by Chris Strellis

Hi all,

Here's a link that plays side one of a Fairlight Demo tape from 1983.
It even has Dr Bob Moog singing its praises!

http://www.keyboardmuseum.com/soundsheet/fairlight3.html

You'd better have broadband though, it's 17.8MB and it's streamed.

You can record it to your PC if you have a the right software.

I now have it as an 18MB mp3 on my PC. I could post it to an FTP
server (Laurent? Colin?) if people are unable to enjoy it from the
keyboard museum site.

Does anyone have the originals of these?

Perhaps they can mp3 them and post them somewhere?

Best regards

Chris

I have the originals. I work at the museum. I tried to post them earlier on the site but the whole file once converted is 23 megs. There are two sides to the 83 demo one is just the music the other is the one you listed the link. We are currently converting all of or sound disks and linking them to our web site. The web site www.keyboardmuseum.org has more than 3000 pages. we have all of the virtual drum machines and we are working on several other virtual machines as well. If you ever wanted to sample a cr78 loop just go to the site. We have Two series IIx's and a huge library at the museum. I am working on a .WAV version of the fairlight samples currently. I will let you know when it is complete.
I can place the demo on cd and send it to anyone who wants to post it in its entirety.

Does anyone have a sample of a jaw hitting the floor?

I need it right now! ;-)

I'll think of something to fill that space up...let me see...oh
yes...I have the Digital Domain complete Series IIx Library audio CD
in .WAV format 627MB. Any takers?

Cheers

Chris

Well, in case (hi all, btw) you'd need a space: I
accidentally have a T3-hooked server with 240Gigs free
and not doing anything useful (except SETI@home),
right now,

Anyone interested?

Rambo
