servicing Fairlights in Europe

2010-02-10 by David

Anyone got any ideas on this?
My Series III won't boot. I'm technically pretty useless so am a bit stuck. It is 9.34 and may just need a fresh installation of the OS or might need work. It was upgraded by Peter Wielk but as he is on the other side of the planet, I need to find someone here..
I also have a series IIx and Series I that are ok, but in the long run, knowing someone would really make me more confident about owning and using them..
Any thought would be great. Also, any bad experiences, feel free to e-mail me so I avoid going to the wrong place!
Thx
David
Brussels.

Hi David,

For service and repair in Europe, you might try Alexander Guelfenburg
Virtual Music Wien.

http://virtual-music.at/index.htm

He's on this list too.

Regards,

Peter Kersten.

Hi David,

Does your CMI Series 3 has got the 8" floppy drive ? Do you have the
installation floppy discs ?

Best regards.

      Laurent.

Dear David,
Can you please give some more detail to facilitate people helping you.
I'm on the same side of the globe as Peter Wielk, so I can't pop around to have a look.
What lights, if any, come on?
How far does the machine get in starting up?
What is displayed on the screen?
What are all the symptoms?
Regards,
David Crocombe.
