Floods

Although I am quietly excited by the birth of this 21st century Fairlight, at this moment it is tempered with a little worry for ol' Andrew Brent whom, I believe, lives in the flood area. Andrew, I have misplaced your Email, but you are being worried about here in Santa Monica.

For those newer to CMI-land, Andrew was a huge part of Fairlight's presence here in LA through the 80s-90s. I called him Dr. Bombay (as in the 1960s "Bewitched"  USA sit-com) for his uncanny ability to appear when your CMI most desperately needed him.

Wherever you are Doc., keep paddlin' mate! And watch out for those things with teeth.

Yeah, Andrew Brent was a really nice guy.
I used to work at a place called MachineHead in the 90's and as you stated he was always available when needed to support MFX 2&3's as well as a couple Series III's the owner had.
Hope he's doing okay!!

Andrew Brent is STILL a nice guy! I just spoke to him a moment ago. He was in a pub, and it's p*ssing with rain, however he had the good sense to build his house at the top of a hill, and is OK.

Sadly, a lot of his fellow Queenslanders didn't, and an area the size of France and Germany combined is under water.

And there are still people who doubt human intervention as a cause of climate change... 

Wish them well.... (Queenslanders, not global warming sceptics, although not mutually exclusive)....

Glad to hear Andrew's OK, and doing well! I've often wondered what happened to him since the days he used to trek out to my studio in NJ and work his magic on my series III...

The debate on global warming (...err climate change, ...err whatever the latest marketing term is...) will have to wait for another day, since disasters and floods have been happening for tens of thousands of years, without any input from the inconsequential human race. ;-)

Although that doesn't lessen the impact of the disaster, and my heart goes out to all who are affected...
