Initials "PWL" on back side of monitor from J.J. Jeczalik

2012-05-20 by synthserver

While surfing the web a bit yesterday, I stumbled on a picture of J.J. Jeczalik, sitting at his Fairlight CMI IIx. Since I bought that system, it was nice to see a picture of him actually sitting near it. The nice fact was that I saw the "B"-sticker on the monitor, which was still on there when I bought it. Since I didn't like the sticker, I removed it, so the glue wouldn't damage the paint.

The actual tube was brandnew and does not have the bubling problem, because the tube used does not have the foil layer. There is no sign of burning in, so I guess it was serviced not very long before I bought the system in 1995.

Now, I always wondered what the initials "PWL" on the back stand for. My guess was that it was put there by Peter Wielk, but what does the "L" stand for?
