Does anyone have an old mfx3+ console kicking about they want to get rid of?

I don't need the power supply (although that might be handy), and I don't need it functional - just complete.

Hi Peter,

not the 8", but as my IIx has the 3,5" Floppies as well I read from them.
Wanted to install a HxC Floppy emulator in one of the 3,5" slots and it's also emulating 2 drives.
But had no time so far to get any further :-)
Best,
Thomas

Thomas, once you've read the data, what process do you then use to end up
with a PC-readable file?

As mentioned I did not go that far yet and as soon as I read the file from the Kryoflux
I will send it to the HxC guys to add it to the emulator.
Hope that works in the end :-)

Might find some time end of the week and will keep you updated.

Hi,

once you have obtained a demodulated image of the floppy, you can use the "cmios9" tool to access the filesystem (e.g. get/put files, convert samples to WAV).

Hope this is helpful,
Michael

Peter - You can use the CMIOS9 software that runs on PCs to get into the disk images.

Also, in case anyone is interested in disk imaging - I put together an 8" floppy drive and an old PC running WIN98SE/DOS for making disk images. I've written up the process for how I put it together and show it imaging some of the disks, both reading from and writing to the 8" floppy.

You can find it here:

Enjoy!

Hi Kirk,

Do you have any fairlight .IMD files that you are willing to share? I ask because I am testing some software to open them?

Look in the past of this groups.

For recall.

In this group we (Joe Britt, Klaus Michael Indlekofer, Joerg M. Sigle
and me) are already talked about the making of disk images for Fairlight
... and also full of something (serial, floppy, etc) ;)

Simply search, a few years ago ;)

Thanks, Peter!

J-L - I should have some soon.

In the mean time, check out the Fairlight USA site as they have a lot of disk images there:
http://cmi.fairlightus.com/

Follow the link for Jeff's disks and then make sure you navigate around in the directory tree as there are a lot of images there in other directories.
