.CO file format specification

.CO file format specification

2013-04-23 by nossbocaj

Hi everybody!

Been browsing this group for a couple of years because I'm very fascinated by the Fairlight.

I was wondering if anyone has the file format specification of the .CO files? As I've understood, it's in these files the loop points are stored. Would really appreciate this information if anyone has it.

Sincerely
Carl

Still looking for the format of the .CO-files! When it comes to loop points I found them in the VC-files thanks to the source code of CMIOS9! Very grateful for that.

However, I'm still looking for the .CO-file spec. It's mostly the 'Attack' and 'Damping' parameters I'm after. It would be quite easy to reverse engineer if only I had a real system with PAGE 4... :)

What I've found out so far from analyzing some .CO-files:

0x0000 - 0x007F = Always filled with the same value, most often 0x00, but occasionally 0xE5

0x0080 - 0x017F = Probably the "essence", the stuff that need's to be explained

0x0180 - 0x077F = Harmonic profile?

In all .CO-files I've researched 0x0084 always has the value 0x04, is this the "MODE"?

I would be very grateful for any info on this.

Carl

Oops, I wrote PAGE 4 but I actually mean PAGE 7!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
