Hi all
This tape is on Ebay
Regards
Colin

Fairlight CMI demo tape Item number: 2580747159

Current bid: GBP 6.50
Approximately US $11.35

Time left: 23 hours 0 mins
7-day listing
Ends Dec-17-03 08:06:38 PST
History: 3 bids (GBP 4.99 starting bid)
High bidder: dawnchorus1

 Description

When I met kim Ryrie in 1982 (if you don't know what I'm talking
about you wont be bidding) he introduced me the the version II
Fairlight CMI and gave me this tape. It features a fantastic voice
over introducing the remarkable features of the first synthesizer
that sounded like a real instrument. Think Human League Dare which
is almost all Fairlight. Every sound on the tape is electronic
except the voice over - good potential for remixers etc. A rare gem.

Peter, save yourself the trouble. The tape is already on the website.
I downloaded it a while ago. If I'm not mistaken it is on 'Rambo's
site.

Nope it is not, as far as I recall, I haven't got it; neither had
permission to post anything on my site.

send it to rambo@id.uw.edu.pl (no size limit).

I recall now, it was a link to an external site where it could be
played on-line. It seems I do not have a copy. Sorry to have put your
hopes up :(

Yeah, I do ;-)
It's http://fairlight.id.uw.edu.pl, anyone on forum can use it
FTP server: do.id.uw.edu.pl, or fairlight.id.uw.edu.pl
(the same crap, new packaging :)- but disks are big),
user: fairlight,
password on demand (e-mail me),

But it's not a big deal yet, I asked on group if I can duplicate stuff
which is in files and photos area, but with no feedback yet :(((

Merry Christmas

2003-12-24 by Gerald Vance

Hi All,
Just wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and looking forward to
seeing you all soon. Has any body had any success listening to my IIx
tracks, a little feedback would be appreciated as a lot of the samples
are original. I will get some more tracks put on the site in the New
Year, one with a good example of how to create a vocoder type sound
with your IIx!!
bye for now
Gerald

Hi Gerald,

Where are your IIx MP3's located? I've love to hear them!

Jerry

Hi Jerry
I gave them to Colin and he's put them on the site somewhere, however
I'm doing a CD soon, all Fairlight, will let you all know
bye for now
Gerald
