I've decided that instead of going to ebay, I'll give fellow CMI enthusiasts here a chance to buy the pens that I have for sale.

Pics are in the pictures section.  I'm asking $200 each.  If it's in the US I'll include shipping at that price.

These are new and have never been installed.  I'm selling 3 of them.  1 has a replaceable tip.  First person to buy will get that one.

Sorry - no Paypal.  We'll have to figure out another payment method.

As far as I know, you can buy series I, II and IIx pens directly from the current Fairlight-music company (Peter Vogel).

Well, I remember Peter was under the impression that I was in need of a pen and he wrote that he could provide me with a replacement. There was talk of a new one, not old stock.... Since my pen was and is still in perfect working order, I never bought such a new one.
To be sure, just contact Peter and ask. Let us please know how things work out.

I found the email and it seems my memory played a trick on me.
Here is the original info from Peter Vogel:
" If I knew where to get lightpens I’d be happy to share that information. I haven’t actually been looking as they will only work with CRT displays and the new CMI uses an LCD, so I have not been looking for lightpens that would work with a CRT. It would be possible to make alternative electronics that would fit inside the case we’re having made for the new “lightpen” (which isn’t an optical device at all) to replicate the original lightpen. This would cost, at a guess, $5,000 to make say 20 of these. If I could sell 20 at $250 I would recoup costs. So anyone who’s interested in buying a lightpen for $250 please email me and if I get 20 orders I’ll do some more investigation. Alternatively, if someone else would like to provide the electronics, I’d be happy to sell them the casings."

I actual know where to get Fairlight I, II, IIX lightpens but I have to check my source inventory.
I currently have on one my IIX and it works  perfect, original OEM part for the Fairlight CMI.

I am also in need of a pen for the IIx. Does anyone have schematics for the original IIx pen? I was never able to find it in all the documentation I have - even though there are schematics of almost everything else. I tried to construct a new pen, but could not get it working. I am doing something stupid, I am sure...
