cmios9 now supports WAV to VC for Series IIx

cmios9 now supports WAV to VC for Series IIx

2013-10-22 by kmi9000@yahoo.com

Hi,

I would like to announce a new release (2.10) of cmios9 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cmios9/files/):

Improved QDOS support:

* transfer of CMI files (e.g. VC) to/from QDOS floppy images (“import” and “export” commands)

* conversion of WAV files to Series IIx VC files on QDOS floppy images (“wav2vc2” command)

* tar-archives of QDOS files (“target” and “tarput” commands)

This might be useful for CMI Series IIx owners who have the CMI Flash Kit (by jbemond) and want to import own WAV samples etc.

Many thanks to dvdborn for testing and bug reports!

Regards,

Michael

Nice software !

Essential to manipulate the contents of disk images :)

Michael thank you for this long-term work !

Hi Michael,

Thank you for this software. I have read the read me file. I would love to be able to use this software to its full potential as I own a series 3 as well as a 2X , however I think I will need further assistance in using it. I would like to organise my CMI 2X library on the PC . I have JB Emond's flash kit which is the best thing ever ! I have copied many floppies to the SD card but would like to move individual sounds to and from different disk images. Perhaps more instruction on how to actually use it would be good for us users who aren't so computer literate ! I have a PC running Windows XP and also a Mac running 10.6 Snow leopard but the Mac seems to write strange files to the SD card as soon as it's inserted. JB recommends to use the PC only because of this. Many thanks .

Cheers,

James

Hi Michael,

Thank you!

That could be nice if you may add export capabilities from VC (CMI-III format) to any SW sampler format with layers. Not how it's done now with WAV extensions. Easy way is SF2, it is documented. That's in my personal wish list to be able to use SW sampler for preview.

Hi Michael,

Would there be any opportunity of accessing the source to cmios9?

I would like to directly support .vc files in Wave if possible. Also it would be possible to write a CMI Iix WAV export for Wave that would allow for more complete management?

Jean-Luc

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
