Hi Jerry,

Welcome back. Hope you're keeping well!

I'm going to email the auction winner of the tape, from eBay. Maybe they will, if they aren't already, become a member of this group or even post an mp3 of this tape to our site :-)

Regards,
Peter

Hi Guys! Colin, Peter W. Peter C. Klaus and everyone else.

Hope you all have been well!

Just wanted to drop in and say HI and that it's ben ages since I've done anything with
my Fairlight. I said once the cold weather hit, I was going to spend some serious time
with her and that's just what I'm about to do now. Really looking forward to it!

Had a quick question about the Demo tape on an exteral link you guys were talking
about a whie back. Has anybody captuered this and posted an MP3 of it on thier web
site? I know the Apple forums had a discussion a while back aobut capturing
streaming audio but I'm unable to find it at the moment. Would really love to have this
for my Fairlight collection. It brought back all the memories of my Fairlight lust in the
early-mid 80's.

Jerry

Greetings Peter!

I'm d/l the tape now thanks.

I am doing well, thanks. Anxious to really sit with my CMI and get to the meat of the
matter, so to speak. It's been too long since I really used it. Now that the cold winter
has arrived, it's the perfect time to get re-aquainted :-)

Sounds like you're really putting yours to good use! :-)

Regards,

Jerry

Hi Jerry

Welcome (back)

I’m sure you’ll have a good time with your CMI. I did the same this summer, and I really enjoyed it. Actually I’m so pleased, I’m using it again in my studio. I have worked with AKAI samplers (3000 and 5000) and softwaresamplers (Emagic EXS24 mkII) for a while, but when I “fired up” the Fairlight, I was very surprised – there’s no sound like the CMI – I had almost forgot the sound. The only problem is the speed (but Peter Wielk has a solution – an upgrade to ver 9.34). Look forward to a “hot” winter.

Sincerely

Klaus

Hi Klaus,

Thanks for the welcome :-) I also am looking forward toa hot winter with my CMI
although I'm finding it very difficult to get anything going. THe ideas just don't seem
to be there. Have had some conversation about this with a musician friend of mine
and he said he feels the same way. The desire is there but there doesn't seem to be
the creative force to pull from. Are you, or any of you, feeling this?

I spent a bit of time with Page R last night and managed to get a VERY BASIC idea
rolling. But I set up the system file the wrong way so I'll have to re-do it LOL!

What I need is either a week completely alone so that I don't have to do ANYTHING but
play with my CMI or find another user close to me who'd want to get together and see
what we can do.

I think a BIG part of my problem is I'm no longer surrounded by creative types like I
was in my teens and 20's.

Anyway, good to be back and Happy Holidays!

Jerry
