Hi All. Several folk wrote to me about this MFX, however I advised against buying, as if one was after a disk recorder, the later MFX3+ was much better, and they seem to go for the same sort of money.
The MFX3 used a lot of the cards that dated back to the series III (and even the IIX), so it might be useful for spares, but there would be probable reliability issues eventually.
The MFX3+ replaced all the early boards with one new one, the waveform executive. A logical choice after waveform processor and waveform supervisor!
This was the new hardware platform that enabled many innovations, with networking being the game changer: Several MFX3+ systems could talk to each other and share projects. They could also access a PC server loaded with libraries of sound effects through software called AudioBase 2.
