Worldwide Survey

Worldwide Survey

2003-08-07 by Colin Ross

I'm posting this as a responce to comments left on The Holmes Page
recently. Over the last few years a number of postings have been
made concerning the number of CMI's Worldwide. (Series I II IIx IIL
III) I've wanted to do a Worldwide database for a long time now and
at last I've started a survey on the database page on this forum.
Like many others I've often woundered how many of these amazing
instruments are still left working or not working worldwide. So at
last this database may answer that questions. Please take time to
fill in the details and answer best you can. If anyone would like me
to help them with this please email me. If you have more that one
Fairlight please please repeat this process. Serial numbers is also
important as we can track the history for years to come, and if you
could fill all details in or as much as possible. Be proud of what
you own.
Some new features will soon appear on the forum which I know will
appeal to everyone. I am still talking to a few people to make this
happen and details of this will appear hopefully soon.
The Fairlight community on the forum is increasing rapidly and I
would like to give a big warm welcome to all new members. The bigger
this community gets the better it will be for the forum. Sharing is
a big gold I have for everyone on the forum.
I really want to start a sample page on the forum, were you can
download samples over the internet or a Worldwide postal service
which will not be profit making. A couple of members of the forum
are helping me on this MAJOR GOLD. I personally will be putting alot
of time, efford and samples on this forum and on my up and coming
web page which has 200MB of sample space available. I want to change
the samples as much as possible starting this on a quartely year
basis or less if possible. I need all your help on this by supplying
samples, any samples..... when available. A email will be sent to
all members when new sound are available.
I hope to have Fairlight samples in wave format, for member who have
not got a Fairlight but love this instrument. We have a few members
at present.
I plead to all member who have any manuals, News Letters, Brouchers
and any Fairlight related document in PDF or photocopy or will copy
their manual into PDF please please get in touch via my email
address
colin.a.ross@btopenworld.com
as these will be also be listed for any member to download.
Best and kind regards
Colin

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
