Bid on fake to a million

Bid on fake to a million

We should all bid on the fake MFX on ebay to a million for a laugh.

I do not find that very wise, if the faker actually acquires the unit
through the legitimate auction or through a deal with a buying party who
is willing to part from it immediately, and then re-auctions it, he can
deliver. If you bid on this unit and your name is on top, you are legally
bound to purchase the unit for the proposed price.

Your million rather than mine ;-)

Connecting Fairlights / SN list

2004-03-26 by feldmann@xs4all.nl

Is it safe to connect two or more series III CMi's using SCSI cables ?

I never heard of anyone doing this, but I wonder whether, if one unit runs
11+ and the other 6.03, I could transfer files between the machines ? If
so, the 11+ can then possibly write to Jaz or ZIP disks. This way it is
possible to backup a 6.03 to Jaz / ZIP, if that unit does not support J/Z
in the first place.

I also heard a rumour that you can actually link fairlights together to
have more voices as if they were one, is this true ?

And again I would like to see a verified list of serial numbers and
(previous) owners so we can verify ownership claims.

Harald.

The sales brochures ca. 1986 talked about voice expansions (which were to
become available in 1987) but I don't think that ever happened. Let's see:

"Sixteen channels are provided as standard, expandable up to 80." with a
footnote saying "Expansion racks available during 1987".

If I find the time during the next days I'll try to scan the various sales
literature I have around here. Makes an interesting read...

Thanks :) You could upload them to the files section.
