He's copied the description of the Synclavier from somewhere else (it discusses "our Interchange application" so this sounds like an old Synclavier brochure) and doesn't explain that this is only a VPK Mark 1, which without the remainder of the Synclavier system is as much use as a bicycle to a fish! Also, ISTR the VPK wasn't introduced until around 1986 - so this guy's description is full of errors. Does indeed sound very odd! FWIW - the VPK is probably worth around £500 to £1,000 to a Synclavier owner with a damaged / missing VPK (or a Synclavier II owner with an old ORK). If it was a 'mint' Mark 2, about £1,000 to £1,500 and a Mk 3 (Tripp) around £2,500. Well spotted Peter! :-) Philip
