This can prevent adhesion - I'm surprised Tarn-X worked. I would reccomend wiping down with 91% isporopyl (Wal-mart has this) with Bounty's 'No Streak Glass Paper Towels', designed not to leave residue. Some paper towels will leave their own residue - I've found that Scott white shop rags on a roll leave a mess if used with acetone.
