Homebrew PCBs

Hi,

With Eagle, how do you select a pad or object on the board you have just 
routed and change it?
The connections to solder components in are very small and I'd like to make 
them bigger.
Looks like a good chunk of software if you can drive it.
Also how do you force it to do single sided boards?
