I think that ST is talking about direct- inkjet printing. This might be different to printing onto JetStar film or good trannys that have a gel coat. The Copper PCB probbably does not soak up the ink and fill in the gaps as well. (Not that I think that direct injet is a good idea - photo-process all the way and save the goats)
