If you want to make your drill a real varible speed drill try this.
Get you hand on a table model sewing machine foot padel. This way you 
can bring the drill bit to the place where you want to make the hole 
then lightly press ...you won't slide off so much this way. Your drill 
is a 0 - whatever rpms now, works great with my Dremil.
