I've just been quoted $9595 for standalone plus 20% for floating 
(????).

I haven't yet tried gEDA/PCB - I'll google it and see what comes back.

Altium sounds very good, seems a whole lot more powerful than 
anything I have ever used.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
