I use gEDA gschem on Linux for the schematic and then FreePCB on
WinDoz for the PCB. 

IIRC you have to manually change the first line of the gschem netlist
to "*PADS-PCB*" (without the quotes) for FreePCB to recognize it. I
don't use netlists as I haven't synched a few of the gschem and
FreePCB symbols.

You are probably going to have to create a LOT of symbols no matter
which layout package you get.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
