Leon,
It's a personal preference.

Some people like the "look" of a green solder mask, and it does protect the
copper traces form oxidation and shorting.

It is also another tool in the pcb making kit.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
