I have had thoughts of doing something similar in the past.
You might want to take a look at this site.

I think it is about the simplest design I have seen for a 
droplet ejector that might be feasible for a serious hobbyist 
to build.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
