You can do the SAME thing using Comet, etc., and a cotton  cloth, or even a 
good Bounty paper cloth, if folded several times.  Rinse  off with cold, 
perhaps as you wipe with a clean paper towel, and dry a bit with  a clean dry paper 
towel, and let dry in air, best resting on a folded paper  towel, leaning 
against a drinking-glass or such.  No rocket science, just  basic care in 
handling!  Keep your fingers off the  copper!
