Homebrew PCBs

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where to purchase PCB stock to make flexible circuit boards?  The type I 
am looking for is the very thin film which appears to be a plastic type material.

It refers to the DuPont product Pyralux which maybe what you are after
and has good tips as to which thickness will feed through a printer if
that is your technique.

I tried searching for "flexible copper clad laminate".  Got some hits, 
but couldn't find any place to purchase.

I have a small quantity of material I could part with if you're 
interested.  Make me an offer off board.

One possibility might be to check out:

They advertise 1 inch wide copper foil tape with  a conductive
adhesive made by 3M that is (apparently) equivalent to '1 oz' copper
foil.  This, combined with one of the various grades of Kapton
(polyimide) film which can be purchased on eBay from:

http://stores.ebay.com/Paper-Street-Plastics  (look under 'Other')

This may be helpful if you want to make flexible boards < 1 inch wide.
 Other sources may provide wider material.

  Been doing the same search myself for a while now... I haven't made 
an order yet, but a few promising leads:

probably your best bet to find exactly what you need. They appear to 
stock all types of copper clad laminates, including flex, and I saw 
an ad saying they would deal with hobbiests/researchers.

both of these places distribute the polyimide plastic (AKA kapton) 
that is typically used as the laminate in flex boards. No copper 
clad, but depending what you are hoping to do, it might help. Really 
pricy stuff...

bare copper foil (if you are looking to do lamination yourself) is 
available pretty much everywhere - including that first link, or 
places like:

basiccopper.com

Another great resource for more info about these materials and their 
use is "Printed circuits handbook" by Clyde F. Coombs... in it's 5th 
or 6th edition now.

If you get a chance, please let us know how things go - I'm looking 
to start doing the same thing pretty quick here.
