The current Autotrax program is nothing to do with the original Protel Autotrax. Leon

Hi Guys , I am new at this, but i'll have a go. On the site: http://kov.com/Default.aspx The program they sell now, Autotrax EDA has in their manual: http://kov.com/Documentation/AutoTRAXPDF.htm On page 175 it tells users that some manufacterers accept the Autotrax PCB binairies directly. Is this what is asked? Sincerely, Vereecke Serge. --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "leon Heller" <leon355@...> wrote:

I can't imagine why a PCB shop would specify protel format files. As Leon pointed out, there is no relation at all between the current AutoTRAX and Protel's earlier product of the same name. (See you back over on the AutoTRAX group.) Regards, Bob

Aparently they want files with the *.pcb extension and not the *.ger extension. Its over 90% humidity here and I cant really be bothered looking any further. --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "serge.vereecke" <serge.vereecke@...> wrote: > > Hi Guys , > > > I am new at this, but i'll have a go. > On the site: > http://kov.com/Default.aspx > The program they sell now, Autotrax EDA has in their manual: > http://kov.com/Documentation/AutoTRAXPDF.htm > On page 175 it tells users that some manufacterers accept the > Autotrax PCB binairies directly. > Is this what is asked? > > > Sincerely, > > Vereecke Serge. > > > --- In Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com, "leon Heller" <leon355@> wrote: > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "logicresearch" <logicresearch@> > > To: <Homebrew_PCBs@yahoogroups.com> > > Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2009 10:22 PM > > Subject: [Homebrew_PCBs] Protel Files? > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > Does AutoTrax output Protel files (.PCB) - I can't see it anywhere. > > > > > > A local manufacturer of PCBs want protel files not gerber. > > > > The current Autotrax program is nothing to do with the original Protel

Because long ago autotrax/protel was a bit of a defacto standard esp. down here at the asre end of the world. I was actually going to ask if you where from Brisbane to have a PCB shop that was still stuck in the early 80's being your local.
