PCB Antenna

PCB Antenna

2009-02-09 by Brian

I have been researching PCB Antenna's and found that they can be
complicated. What I would like to know.. does anyone have a genaric
layout for a 50 ohm 433MHz PCB antenna, if not a layout than how I
could do it. A tutorial would be cool too. I am using Eagle CAD. I am
going to try to etch it myself. I am only looking at a distance of less
than 100 ft at about 2400 baud. I made a tempreture datalogger and
would like to add a wireless unit for an outside temp.

Thanks,
Brian

I remember that integration IA4420/21 had documentation and layouts (in
pdf) of various pcb antenas for 315/433/868/915MHz, i couldn't found
the original url now. The files are IA_ISM-AN1.pdf and IA_ISM-AN2.pdf
you can still found them, if not ask me by email. I start a design but
bought it already made and cheaper...

The antenna itself is generally simple - a dipole or 1/4 wave with a
groundplane. What complicates things is the matching network that is usually
required.

hi everyone!

Try this: http://www.signalengineering.com/ultimate/gamma.jpg

It's easy.

If you go to http://www.archive.org and click on the advanced search and paste in the full URL below into the new search, for each file, it returns the PDFs.

This stupid Yahoo email system has sprinkled spaces all over the links, remove the spaces from the links to ensure URL links work.

Please read the message again, I did not say to visit the site of the links given, but to use it as search criteria in the www.archive.org site. If you do what I suggested, you get the documents.

Look in Microchip's App Notes under rfPIC, they have several that
cover PCB antenna design for that band.

<http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=1469>

If that link doesn't work, go to their home page and click on "App
Notes & Source Code" and then "rfPIC Devices", then select "ALL".
