Thanks for mentioning that. I have had a look at a number of such tools, but I haven't heard of this one yet. Do you know any URLs for more info?

What I have in mind is to use pure harmonics, i.e. making sure that all frequencies relate to each other in simple ratios. That's naturally the case, but not so simple if you combine two or more sounds. As long as there's just one tone (with its harmonics) it's indeed simple, one can just gradually shift all frequencies higher or lower. But imagine you have a melody with a pitch glide, while the background is built up using a number of sounds. Imagine that the background stays the same. As long as there's no glides, the melody tone can co-incide with one of the harmonics of the background sound. What I want to do is to use glides in the melody, while maintaining as much harmony between the melody sound and the background chord. That can be done by suppressing some harmonics at some stage during the glide, while increasing the volume of others, or even by using specific harmonics of the background chord (at some stage during the glide) to replace some of the harmonics in the melody. Until now, I have only managed to work out a step by step shift in frequencies, rather than a smoother glide.

I'll let you know if it works out to something that's interesting to listen to!
