| Synthosphere's SX-240 - Fixing her'up ! | 01 First Checkup, PS-36 Fuses inspection |
There are 3 fuses on the PS-36 Board. All are 1.5A, 250V. Third one is out of the pic range, just above. Ends up 2 of them were blown, the 2 vertical ones. |

A clear manifestation that something went wrong somewhere last time this SX was used. Hopefully it was just a power surge leading to no other damage, and not some major issue. If not, then a blown transformer or power transistor?? |

This is the general area, to help you locate where my problem is. |
| Synthosphere's SX-240 - Fixing her'up ! | 04 Blown IC - A bit closer... |
Closer... You can ID the ST-17 Board, where the Blown IC is. See following pics for details. |

OK, now you can see it clearly. Poor thing almost got decapitated!!! It escaped my attention at first, as I was mainly cleaning the horizontal boards, and the ST-17 is right under the cover, so less dust accumulation, and is vertical when cover is opened. But I finally spotted it, to my horror! |

I have identified this IC, with the help of the (very bad quality) PDF version of the Service Manual, as IC-25, an LM311P or TL311, not quite sure. Since the top has blown, I can't read what was written on it. CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE? |
