That's exactly the way it works in Sonar. It uses Window's MDI interface.
Actually, Sonar has made it configurable so that it can work like Logic, or
as an MDI (multiple Document Interface) interface. Although I prefer Logic's
Matrix editor to Sonar's equivalent, I prefer Sonar's MDI interface because
it takes no effort at all to keep track of the windows that are open and, in
fact, to keep many open and switch between them. It just works better for
me. Having that little icon when you minimize the matrix editor would make
all the difference.

If you maximize the editor windows in Sonar, that's fairly close to what you
get, but not exactly.

P.S. Thanks for the tip about holding down Option (whoever gave it). That
will be very helpful.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
