Re: [Logic_Cafe] I don't know. It is most likely attributable to human error.

To the extent that I have not checked out every possible way of doing things, despite all my best efforts, does not mean "user error" or "stupid user". In fact, thats what I just said yesterday - I would gladly accept the title "dumb user" IFApple made it very clear what all had to be done, what other software utiltities had to be purchased etc. As it is, you need to read magazine articles (Photoshop magazines are often more details about this kind of thing), books, and glean info from experts like yourself, and maybe ask the Apple genius a question or two. But this information - as vital as it is - is not all that easy to find - and someetimes it varies.
In my case, I did reformat the drive, do a clean install of the system, its updates. I only have music related items on that drive (AOL, photoshop, excel, real basis are on a completely different hard drive). I run Diskwarrior. I repair permissions - sometimes daily. I run the SUDOs from the terminal. And I got Drive Genius lately - although it had some problems and they issued a new version. I have heard good and bad about CCC and Diskwarrior and don't really know what to believe anymore. I have also swapped 3 brands of RAM through that computer.
I have had crashes at the end of the setup assistant for logic, while changing preferences, etc. I have the system freeze while Logic was playing audio (its very memorable because it keeps playing although the screen is frozen). Maybe I have overlooked some maintence routine (I willl read your list carefully later), so I will try to keep an open mind.
