Hi Hogleone, Before I tell you my experience I need to make it clear that MIDI is what I use primarily for my song writing. I use audio tracks only for vocals and for those instances where my MIDI synth can't quite create the sound that I like. In that case I create an audio copy of a MIDI track and use Logic plug-ins to enhance the sound. I own Logic Pro, Sonar Producer Edition, Cubase SX3, and DP 4.5x. Of all of those programs, Logic is *clearly* the best for MIDI editing. It is the worst for easily setting up your external midi gear, but is extremely flexible. I found Cubase a relatively close second for MIDI. Sonar came in third and DP was dead last by a long shot. If you use midi regions in logic, you will be very disappointed with DP. It has no equivalent. That alone was enough for me to stop using it. However, beyond that, I found the DP interface kludgy even though it has a polished look. I'm sure others will disagree, but that is a personal preference kinda thing and that's how it was for me. I really can't comment intelligently on the audio aspects of DP - or Logic for that matter. I just don't use it enough. Hopefully someone else can provide some information on aspect of DP for you.
