Unfortunately, it's the song with the plug-ins that I am pasting into (being the actual work 
in progress).  I would not want to clear those plug-ins after the labor involved in building 
them. 

It's not that one song is loading plug-ins from the other song (if I understand your 
answer).  The target song reloads its own plug-ins each and every time it is switched from 
'background' to 'foreground'.
